Battery Point Trail

 

This trail will lead you about 1 mi through a rolling, moss-floored forest and across several small streams to a long pebble beach at the rocky Kelgaya Point. On a sunny day, it’s a peaceful spot for lunch while listening to the waves and watching ships pass in the inlet. For those wanting a longer hike, continue south through fields and woods to walk a small ridgeline out to Battery Point, a rocky bluff of black horneblende.
